  • Budget is the most important missing info here but also
Large family - lots of use?
    Features needed?

I'd be surprised if anyone with a large family used a washer/dryer they are just too inconvenient.

Well maybe the OP can let us know that? But lets face it budget is the most important info (and maybe also if there is room for a separate dryer which would always be a better option)

    Hi
Decided to not bother with a washer/dryer.
Need to do at least 1-2 loads day to keep on top of wash pile. Large capacity would be good.
    budget-£400 max

    Thanks

  • I would recommend one of bosch/AEG/Siemens washing machines or the panasonic all generally reliable and some ranges with large capacitys that can be picked up for less than £400

Consider something like the Siemens WM12P160GB which seems to be available from around £380 and will have 8kgs load and standard 2 year warranty. Its very similar type spec to our one and we are happy with it and washes well

Do go into a shop (preferably a local independent type one not Currys'/Comet) and check out a few models as to how they feel control wise etc

We found the Siemens just felt more solid on the knobs, door seal and door (and for us came with a 5 year warranty which clinched it but don't think this is on at the mo)

Also if you have a good local independent ask them if they have any display or ex showroom/ end of line models as these usually come with full warranty but with discount
