Hi this is my first post ,I just want to warn people about a furniture company, they are trading online and also have stores near Burgess Hill in Sussex.
I ordered furniture from them in August and it still hasn't been delivered, they have ignored all phone calls emails and letters ,at the moment I am in the process of trying to get my money back through a chargeback with my bank,so keeping my fingers crossed.
I am not the only one having problems as someone has put bad reviews on google maps. The company is The Furniture Warehouse nr Burgess Hill and as far as I can tell are still taking orders.

Hi,
Newbie here too.
I am in the same boat, we ordered on August 1st and actually had a delivery but it was the wrong one so we sent it back.
After numerous calls we were told by the manager (Gary Niblett) that a replacement had been ordered but have not heard anything since. I called the supplier directly and they believe they may be going into administration or may start trading under a new name soon. As we bought the chair on a debit card they thought we were unlikely to get our money back.
Please could you explain more about what you have asked your bank to do?
Thanks.
PS Does anyone know if any of their stores are open still?0 -
I've been waiting for weeks for furniture to be delivered,. Again, not answering the phones, emails bouncing back etc. I phoned a couple of businesses on the estate and apparently they are still trading!? sent a letter saying they are in breach of contract, still no reply, even the owners` (Peter Ablewhite) home phone number doesn't work! - so frustrating, so i believe i may be paying them a trip very soon!! - what's been your courses of action??0

Cheers for your reply Andrew - Have done - although trading standards make you deal with consumer direct, which only advise you to send a recorded delivery letter to the company. I found the owners details a while ago - and have tried phoning him, phone isn't working! I'm about to send recorded delivery letters to all their sites, including Peter Ablewhites home address - short of that i'll have to pay them a visit - albeit 2.5 hours away0

I can really sympathise with these tales of undelivered furniture..ordered in July 4 pieces of furniture told del.early sept...then late sept then oct they were only in receipt of 3 items so I agreed to wait a week or two for the rest....finally many calls no call backs etc demanded del of what they had ...Monday one piece arrived...so furious I e.m.the manufacturers...had apologie but no delay in manufacture...2 hrs later phone from F Today two pieces coming Monday and last piece before xmas we hope...I so wish I had read reviews before ordering...
The piece I received I am so pleased with I would like another but not from F T anyone had a good purchase from an online furniture co..reviews for lots of them are dreadful...0 -
How did you pay? If you paid by credit card, you can get on to the CC company and do a charge back.0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. here i am again with some good news ,my bank tells me my money is back in my bank .THANKS BARCLAYS DEBIT CARD SERVICES.
When I contacted them on the 10th Nov they sent me a disclaimer to sign and send back ,with it i sent copies of emails ,letters and information about dates of expected delivery, and phone calls etc.. they have 120 days from the time you first become aware that there is a problem to claim the money back from the merchants bank.if you have made efforts to get the goods delivered i.e. giving them 14 working days and they still have not complied then you are entitled to claim a full refund.
Just contact your bank ,give them all the information you can,and cross your fingers ,though the money is in my bank the investigation is still on going and there is still a possibilty that they could debit it back though I was told it wasn't very likely.
So if you are one the people unlucky enough to be involved with this company try the bank for help and GOOD LUCK0 -
Hi all
I am at my witts end reading your threads I am going through all the phone calls and letters to this company and no reply. I have just phoned my bank and they cannot help as it's over 4months old. I then phoned trading standards who have advised me on what to do. So looks like I will be taking them to the small claims court. Have you please got any advise as I have the address I feel like going to see them. I wonder if there local paper would be interested.
