Hi I am trying to upload my artwork to my web page but it says that the pixels are too big, can anyone give me a link for an easy to use photo resizing software? It's got to be free.

Or tell me a way to do it that's easy needs to be under 800x800 pixels
Thanks
:p

    microsoft picture editor

click edit picture then on the right choose resize and select 800 x 600 and make sure keep aspect is checked

this may only be applicable to vista but
if you right click on the file ??????.jpg - > open with - > Microsoft Office Picture Manager

the image should open in here at the top tool bar click the button labeled "Edit Pictures..."

then in the right hand toolbar that just appeared at the bottom clcik "resize"

then in the preset size drop down you have a choice of sizes you will need "800 x 600px" or "640 x 480px"

there are many other software things that will resize tho eg photoshop, paintshop pro etc etc

thats about as good as my instructions get and if you havent got that on your software of windows..... sorry

Depends what operating system you are running and what software you already have. What do you normally use to edit pictures, or what application does a jpg file open in if you double click it? That may have a resizing function within it. If not, there are plenty out there available for free. IrfanView, for example, is an easy one to use.

  • or if you are using XP and want to be geeky then you can run a power tool from microsoft

it will add a resize function when you right click the filetype

Thanks everyone, yes I'm using XP, I don't normally edit photos so I don't have any software to do it I normally send them to truprint and get them printed out by them. Anyway I will try the ones listed on here and see if I can manage to work it out, thank you :o)

Then go with that powertool recommendation. Nice and easy - select the photo(s) you want to resize (you can do more than 1 at once). Right-click select the size you want and it makes resized copies (keeps the original files).
