Charges for staying with current supplier
Options
On 26 Oct I signed up to move via M&S Energy to Southern Electric from E-ON. The 7 days have clearly passed now fro me to change my mind but following a call from E-ON I may decide to stay with them based on a review of my account and a better tarrif offer (Online instead of capped) with one direct debit instead of 2 (lots of things I didn't know I could do - great they tell you all this when you opt to leave them!!
My question after all that is if I do stay with E-ON and they tell SE that I am not now moving (switch over date is 1 Dec) - will I be charged anything?
Thanks

Yes, you have to provide 28 days notice so Southern Electric will insist you pay for a month or so from 1 Dec. Plus chances are you moved to a tariff with penalties so those will be levied, too.
Of course, it is possible E-on may fraudulently claim an objection and stop the transfer - but that is not guaranteed.0 -
Hi ridzybear - Forgive me if my assumptions below are incorrect and you have done things differently
From what you have said, it appears that you opted for S. Elect via M&S after talking to a salesperson who called you or you met in a store, and have now had a phone call from E.on offering you a better tariff than you were previously on with them
It appears that you have only taken advice from the sales people of 2 individual suppliers, when in fact you should be looking at the whole market
Ask E.on for your ANNUAL consumption figures on Elec & Gas and enter them into the 'switchwithwhich' web site - This will not only give you the cost from all the suppliers in fine detail, but show it alongside the detail of your present tariff0
