Current Accounts for Dicharged Bankrupts

Options
My wife and I have been dicharged for nearly 2 years, and have just recieved a large cheque. I asked Abbey if we could up grade our account to which I was told " you defaulted on a loan with us so no".
I am looking for a joint account with a Debit card, as i have an Electron card just now and it is not accepted in a lot of places.
My wife has applied on line to Bank of Scotland but I don't want to be left with the same senario again.
Help please............

I have been discharged for two years and have just opened a Sterling Current Account with Citibank. I have now got a visa debit card and cheque book, really easy to open.

You have to earn at least 20k per year to open it.
