DHL left my new TV at neighbours!!

I ordered 2 new TV's last week, the second of which after cancelling the first, I then come home from picking DD up from Preschool to my neighbour telling me they had a parcel for me, and out he walks with a tv, not only that but its the cancelled one, not the issue I know but it was supposed to be returned.

When ordering it clearly said that it was to be signed for by someone at my address and that it cant be delivered elsewhere, yet it was delivered to my neighbour, dont get me wrong im glad they didn't leave it outside somewhere but what if my neighbour had denied delivery, according to him he didn't even sign for it.

  • oh well. Just send it back then.. No harm has arisen from this.. But do mention that it was left somewhere else and no signature was given to say it was recieved. they will probably discipline the driver or something

If no-one has signed for it then as far as you're concerned, it hasn't been delivered.

It does make you wonder. I thought that delivery people thought it was quite safe round here to leave things but it took the biscuit when I had eight dining chairs delivered the other week by Hermes for Next. I got an email saying they had been delivered and were "in my garage" which was a bit of a surprise, I didn't think we'd left it open...

They were actually sat on my drive 'hidden' behind my two wheelie bins! Needless to say, two wheelie bins aren't adequate to hide eight fully built dining chairs in boxes...

I worry about my local courier for Next, (just happens to work for Hermes) Ive had a parcel delivered to the completely wrong address it then took 3 days to get it because she didn't know what she had done with it, another delivery that was supposed to turn up on a Monday, turned up on the Tuesday at 7.50pm (woke the kids up banging on the door), then recently I chose AM delivery as I had an appointment in the PM, she turned up at 2pm, luckily DH came home from work early so someone was in, she only lives down the road and her daughter goes to the same preschool as mine.

Thats what DH said, but im too honest, plenty of people would get away with this but knowing my luck I wouldn't.

Its due to be collected today between 12.30 and 5pm, I have to go out to pick DD up from preschool at 12, what are the odds they will turn up at 12.05?

Also got an email to say the 2nd TV should be sent in the next 2-3 days, thats funny considering it was supposed to be delivered in 5 days and its now day 5.

From what I gather, choosing days and times for Next is pointless, our woman told us they're told to try and deliver they day it arrives in the depot regardless :|

Tbh with you I wish they would just be honest, if they cant provide a specific AM or PM delivery then why give us the option.

Ive also found with Next that what it says on the internet and what it says on the system regarding delivery is two totally different things, I ordered Kinect the other week with a 5-6 week wait for delivery, which was fine for me as I wanted it for Chrsitmas, rung them about something else a week later to be told the Kinect wouldn't be sent until 25th January, when I asked them why I hadn't been told, they said that I wouldn't be told until the end of the 5-6 week wait.

Im just glad its not HDN bringing the TV.
