hi folks, we are going travelling next year, I want to take a flip mino HD with me and upload the film at regular intervals. Currently thinking of buying an ipad - I know it doesnt have a USB connector, but are there adapters I could use to do this?

Where are you going travelling? An ipad would just be lots of extra baggage and its not worth it. Just about everywhere i went had a pc and I was uploading every couple of days.. You dont need extra stuff - especially stuff that can get broken easily with you."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

Ahh ok.. Well if your hotelling it then they will have computers fro you to use to upload stuff to the cloud like photobucket. Or if you just want them on a hard drive then buy a netbook that has usb and decent hard drive and store them there."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

I think what I'm asking is - is there a USB adapter to the ipad and can I upload videos/photos to it?
I dont want to buy a netbook because if I spend £200 on a netbook, I'd rather add the extra and buy an iPad0 -
The only thing i can see is this http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC531ZM/A"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

If you buy into the Apple world you have to live with a lot of restrictions. If Steve doesn't want you to do things it's gonna be different if not impossible.
The adapter mentioned above doesn't seem to allow transferring stuff off your iPad.

"It has nothing to do with Apple "unlocking" the ability to use the USB connection device to use external hard drives. It has to do with developing drivers to use other external devices. I spoke with an Apple Tech person yesterday and he advised that until Apple or third parties develop drivers to allow the iPad to work with peripheral devices such as mice, typewriters, or to allow the ipad to write to SD cards (instead of reading from SD cards), all you can do with the iPad cammera Connection Kit devices is read from USB cameras and read from SD cards."0 -

But it states this on the very pageWith the iPad Camera Connection Kit, it's incredibly easy to download photos from your digital camera to your iPad so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

depending on the video codec of the videos the flipHD takes the ipad will not accept them.
infact I think that the ipad can only do pictures through the USB connector, and remember it has no file system like other OSs so you cannot use the ipad as a mass storage access like the n8 or on android, so you cannot just grab the file and upload even if the system doesnt support it.0 -

Ok, I misread the OP. I thought he wanted to copy things off his iPad onto an external HD.
But your qoute says that you can only import photos from a camera or SD card, no mention of other file formats. People seem to have all sorts of problems with flip cameras

Hi
Trying to open a new thread, but the option isn't showing for a new thread, so had to write on here.
Anyone know how to unlock a I pad 3 from the Three network for free.
thanks0
