Christmas mugs (Home Bargains have some lovely ones at 99p) with hot chocolate/snowman soup or tea or coffee depending on the person and some choccies and/or biscuits wrapped in cellophane.
Or...
Pots of gold. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I've bought most of mine for family members for under £5 in sales

a dressing gown from £35 to £2 from per una at m&s for my sl and I've also got here a few bits from asos, which came to an extra £3 using the £10 off code.
I got quite a few things in the M&S sale, all for £2.
If I had to buy normal priced items, I would make up hampers or I would make things... this site is full of brilliant things to make
I always keep an eye out through the year for bargins
It spreads the cost and it is fun too! :xmastree:0 -
i try to keep costs as down as possible so all my nephews and nieces ( and now great nephews and nieces ) get a budget of a fiver each
theres 14 under 18s that i buy for !! and my parents get a bit more and DDs BFF's all get a fiver each this year ive found halfcost and got LOADS
any ideas for a 14 yr old boy and 2 six year old boys in this budget be greatly appreciated ( i have a girl i find them so much easier pink sparkley and or make up bits suit any age lol )finances disaster but baby-stepping back to security:
2024 let's do this !!0 -

I'm certainly aiming for under a tenner this year and have a few people sorted:
My nearly 2yr old niece: Peppa Pig Magnet Book (4.49 on play- with cashback, of course)
My 12 year old niece: Sukie iron-on tshirt transfers (6.99- found on the guardian's christmas ideas list)
My solicitor best friend- an old fashioned pill box from ebay (3.00- she survives on proplus so thought it would be a funny little gift- will probably get some PP to go in it!)
My 26yr old brother: Brass Eye book- Chris Morris biog (7.39- play)
Just need to get my mum, dad and sister something and a few other friends. Mum and my sis i'll spend a bit more on as they never get treats (thinking for mum one of those personalised wall calendars for the kitchen).
I'm also very lucky in that I live in Putney so there are some well stocked charity shops (recently I saw a beautiful emerald green Phase 8 handbag (clutch) for £6 with matching shoes (£20)! Unfortunately I wasn't sure who's they'd be for and the shoes wouldnt fit me soI left them! But there are definitely some great finds to be had (especially in Fulham if any other London based MSErs are reading this!)
I'm just about to check out the cooking board as things are tight for my parents too so I'm aiming to have the house smelling of lovely things from Christmas Eve onwards to cheer us all up :-)LBM: January 2010DFD: August 27th 20120 -

I look out at car boots for items under £5....you'd be surprised of what you can find

most people this year have had less than a fiver spent on them but i do start buying in january and keep adding things to my present box throughout the year.
halfcost is brilliant, as is the boots sale after christmas. play have had good stuff on recently along with free postage'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
poundland spree. I'd rather have a thoughtful gift for a pound than a thoughtless expensive one.
I.e I LOVED the 99p handwarmers from my brother, the funny inflatable xmas tree from my friend, the Omega 3 capsules 'to get my brain working' from another friend. Hated the posh Nails Inc manicure kit from MIL (i bite mine down as far as they could possibly go), and the big box of chocs when I was doing weight watchers.
I'd get my dad primark slippers, scarf or makeup for my mam.It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'
