Where's the link and who is this Andy you keeping talking about. Obviously my tax and benefit providers are both wrong and you are right I will have to contact them on Tuesday and give them the benefit of your considerable experience.
Post #8, or check the DMG ... or perhaps you can provide the information which supports your supposition? Nope, didn't think so!Gone ... or have I?0 -
I have checked this out on the Directgov site it's there in black and White you cannot get IB will in receipt of an OLD age pension and you have to be getting over£85 a week to effect your benefit as I am in receipt of IB from 2001 that rule does not apply so my pension doesn't effect my IB. Just who is Andy0

IB isn't means tested but it is affected by receipt of an occupational pension.
From the Essex government website,
"Incapacity Benefit is reduced for anyone who has an occupational pension
over £85 per week. The reduction is 50% of the amount by which the
occupational pension exceeds £85 per week. For example, someone who
receives a pension of £105 will have their Incapacity Benefit reduced by £10
per week. However, this rule does not apply to people getting Disability
Living Allowance highest rate care component."0 -

You failed to mention that this rule doesn't apply to pre 2001 claimants leaving facts out to suit yourself doesn't help and thank goodness my benefits office aren't like you.0
