tablet is a sweet that is common is scotland. It is of a similar fashion to fudge but of a 'dryer' texture - be warned one piece is never enough!!!! It is commonly served with coffee after a meal.

Thinkin about trying my hand at peanut brittle too so, same question?

Kept in an air tight Lock'n'Lock box, they'll keep until Christmas :) If they get moist, they'll go nasty and sticky :(

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread to keep ideas together.

    375g Desiccated coconut
    1 can (397g Condensed Cream)
750g Icing Sugar (plus extra for dusting)
    2 tablespooons lemon juice
    3-4 drops vanilla essence

    Chocolate to coat if desired.

Put sifted icing sugar in large bowl.
Add condensed milk and mix with wooden spoon.

Add coconut, vanilla and lemon juice and mix to form firm paste.

Spread evenly over dusted baking tray, cover allow to set.

    Cut into bars or squares.

If covering in chocolate. Melt chocolate and dip in the squares.

I'm sure this lasts 4-6weeks in an airtight container

Edit: I just noticed the date of these original posts, sorry im little late hehehe
