strange problem with Windows Explorer/movie files

hi...for some reason, whenever I navigate anywhere near movie (.avi) files in windows explorer or try to open them through media player these applications crash....

seems very strange & has has only just started happening recently.

even if I navigate to a folder containing a bunch of .avi and dont attempt to do anything else the window will crash..

any ideas?

The same thing has ust started with me! It says that explorer has to close. How strange!

yes....I'm keeping buffer overrun and explorer/WMP closes if any .avi is opened....virus check is ok...

let me know if you come up with anything..this is doing my head in

there is a fix for this and it is to do with installing divx, however have a ookhere for an anwser

Fixed it!

I just downloaded and installed divx and all works fine now!

sorted...at last...

got some Klite codecs and we're working again!!..
