Buzzing Ceiling Light

Hi
I live in a rental property and recently one of the ceiling lights has started buzzing when it is turned on. It stopped working for a while and I notified the landlord who fixed it but now it just buzzes! Any ideas what might be causing this? It is an incandescent light with a low energy bulb which was fine when we first moved in.
Of note, we often hear people walking around in the property above our flat which causes the ceiling to vibrate.
Thanks

We have one that does the same, and my husband says it's the bulb. I've told him I don't like it becuse it sounds dangerous, but he's still not changed it...
I think I'll need to change it myself.

are yousure its the llight and not the switch ? we had the same problem and it turned out to be the switch it needed replacing as it had begun to deteriorate. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Loose wire in the rose?

^^
Loose wire in the rose would give you noise, but i would expect to see some flashing lights either in the room, or further down the house if it was a live or neutral.
If it only does it when the light is switched on, then i would go with the bulb...
Unless its a dimmer switch, then its probably the dimmer switch..0 -
aye. dimmer switches can emit the same noise.Get some gorm.0
