Just wanted to bring this to your attention, maybe someone can help. Poor Hope deserved so much better.

Some people may find picture in the link upsetting
AN elderly dog had to be destroyed after he was tied to fence near Lossiemouth and left.
The golden retriever was taken to a local vet but he was so ill from malnutrition and disease, the only merciful action was to put him to sleep.
Animal charity the Scottish SPCA is appealing for information on who tied and abandoned the dog near Inchbroom Farm, where he was found by a member of the public on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 10.
There have been over 70 comments on the SSPCA's Facebook page by people outraged and upset at the cruelty shown towards the dog who has been named Hope.
Those responsible have been branded "wicked, cruel and evil" by one upset animal lover with another describing their actions as "absolutely disgusting".
Lesley Crockett, senior inspector with the charity, said: "He was an older dog and was in a very poor condition when he was found.
"He was very thin, couldn't stand by himself and was suffering from a chronic skin condition.
"The vet decided the most humane option was to put the dog to sleep to end his suffering. The dog's health would have deteriorated over a number of months.
"Whoever owned him should have taken him to a vet to receive treatment to prevent his condition progressing so severely.
"We really need to find the person who did this because there is no excuse for this sort of neglect."
Abandoning an animal carries stiff penalties of up to six months in prison, a fine of £5,000 or both.
Someone found guilty can expect to be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life.
Anyone with information regarding Hope should contact the animal helpline on 03000 999999.

Oh God. I wish you'd warned there was going to be a picture of the poor poor dog. I just feel so very sad now that there are people who can be so very cruel to such a defenceless innocent creature.
I wish I could get my hands on the b8stard who left the pitiful little fella like that. I just feel sick to my stomach.
Hope? God knows HE didn't have much. Poor little angel.
Sleep in peace little guy.0 -
All we can do now is hope they find the monster who caused such suffering. And hope they punish him/her as much as poss ,though sadly,as in all animal and other cruelty cases,it is never as much as they deserve.
If they didn't want him,or spend any money on a vet when he became ill,why on earth didn't they at least abandon him a lot sooner when he could have been saved?0 -

As you say though the culprit will get very little in the way of punishment...something stupid like being banned from keeping an animal for 2 years.
And that's in the unlikely event they find him.
But if anyone recognises the poor dog I'd hope they'd be as sickened and outraged as I am and do something about it.
That owner deserves to burn in hell.0 -
nasty nasty person, how could anyone do that to a beautiful golden, i have tears in my eyes0

Oh my god! That's awful! That poor dog. Some people are so unbelievably ignorant and cruel. It's heartbreaking. My Mum lives near where this happened so i'll get her to ask around and see if anyone saw anything. She knows most of the dog walkers as she's always out with her dog. I'm so disgusted, but shouldn't be surprised really. Have recently had fallings out with 2 neighbours over neglect of dogs. Some really silly people on the go.Unfortunately,
MONEY makes the world go round.
Bah Humbug!!!!

I know that nothing can be done for Hope now, bless him, but maybe the owners can be tracked down. I wish i knew more about facebook, as i would start a page up to track the ignorant gits.
I am angry about this, but am doing really well at refraining from expressing to much on here as i dont want this thread closed. Everyone has done so well at keeping a closed lid on tempers, but maybe it just because the level of cruelty to this ole fellow who deserved a peacefully passing hasnt quite sunk in yet.0 -

I haven't looked
I'm glad I read some of the replies before I clicked on any links. It isn't that I want to remain ignorant of the situation, but I just can't let myself look because things like this disturb me and leave me sad and depressed for days. I get flashbacks of the awful images and they won't go away.
I do wish OPs would warn if any of their links are disturbing or graphic though! I've been caught a number of times on this site, ending up looking at 'stuff' I do not want to see and did not expect to see.
I hope the culprit is made to suffer and pay for whatever they did to Hope...

That's the trouble. It does leave us sad and depressed for days.
I had no idea there'd be a photograph in the link and by the time it came up the picturewas there and I had no chance to avoid seeing it. All last night it was upsetting me.
So yes, a warning would be helpful. Just because we don't want to see a picture doesn't mean we don't care.0
