Can anyone recommend a good on-line bed company?

Options
Hi all.

Looking to order a new bed over the internet but not sure on which sites are safe and if I will get my bed??

Doesn't seem to be alot of reviews.

Can anyone recommend a good company?

I am looking at beds 24/7. Prices seem good but are they too good for a reason??

Thanks

  • I have brought a couple of good quality mattress's from https://www.mattressman.co.uk and if you go through topcashback.co.uk you will get around 6% cash back.

Haven't brought a bed from them but am very happy with what I brought and was good service.

I too have bought a cheap bed from mattressman and can recommend them. They are quite a large company with several bricks and mortar outlets

They also trade as bedman.co.uk and carry the same stock but have different offers so it's worth comparing the two though it looks like only mattressman is on TCB.

I bought a Sealy bed recently(ish) through Tesco Direct. I didn't have any issues, and they often have sale prices on beds.

  • Don't you want to try out a range of products first?
Buying solely on price isn't always the best idea IMHO. What happens if you don't like the product?

Returning a 150cm x 180cm mattress for example could be more hassle and certainly a lot heavier than returning an unwanted cd or dress, regardless of the Distance selling regs :)

    Do
  • Thanks for the responses. I will look at mattress man.

Nomoneytoday - I know what bed I want after trying in a shop. Just need to find a genuine on-line bed supplier. Some beds seem too good to be true, ie £550 instead of in shop and other on-line companies at around £780.

    Thanks for replies.

If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who has a good return policy that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.

There are loads who are cheaper than mattressman, and some do have good return policies.
  • I would be careful when using small companies as there is no formal complaints procedure if things go wrong. If going the small company route do so with a local company where you can try the product first
  • I have used Bedsonlegs for both mattresses and beds. I have been very pleased with price, quality, services and reliability. One of the mattresses I bought (a Silentnight) developed sagging after a few months. It was replaced by the company immediately with no problems. No problems with the other two mattresses and the two beds I had purchased.

That's complete rubbish. Any reputable company small or large has to comply with the sale of goods act, and if they sell by mail order then they must comply with distance selling regs.

As a general rule you are far more likely to get better customer service with smaller independent retailers than with the big retailers.

Bedsonlegs are actually quite expensive. They also maily sell big brands, which aren't the best to go for if you want quality and reliability (your SN mattress was a prime example of this).
