My Northern Dad is coming to Cardiff, and wonder if he will have to pay on the bus.

I can't find any info online other than the National Bus Pass does not cover Wales and Scotland, but I also read that Wales lets all over 60s travel free.

But is that only with a Wales Bus Pass or any bus pass?

thanks
Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?

You need to apply for a bus pass in Wales, and have proof of residing in Wales to get one e.g. Council Tax.

I don't very much if 'passes' from elsewhere would be accepted.

It's only £3 all day on as many buses as you want round the town and 1-2 miles radius anyway, you just get on and ask for the Cardiff to Go ticket and keep showing it.

Passes can only be used in the country of origin. English ones in England, Welsh ones in Wales.

However, we can use our passes to go over the border, as long as the journey begins in Wales. For me it means shopping in Chester, rather than Wrexham
