Suspicious request for log in to access forum thread???

Can someone explain why this particular thread demands a username and password to enter. I have never come across this before in any of the forums, but do not think I will risk it, and I find it particularly suspicious with GCPC, I dont know why that is, I guess since the recent spam attack I air to caution.

you can still read the thread if you click on cancel

don't know if you know what the threads about but its someone called gary cooper and his pc scam

I remember him only too well , but the point is, is it not suspicious? I am aware we can click cancel, but sometimes you cannot trust "which" is the cancel.

This post contains a link to an image on the site that the OP posted about.

Since that post was made, it looks like access to that site/server has been passworded.

So when your browser tries to load the image, the server throws up an authentication dialogue.

That makes sense fermi, cheers, but as above I do think they should delete the post that is causing it.
