Paying Student loan Abroad

First off, I don't know if this is the right group.
My problem is, I moved to Canada, where I am working and plan to remain for the foreseeable future.
I know I need to inform the student loans company of this fact, but my question which is the best way to pay them. As I've been told I can't pay from a Canadian account, it has to be a UK one.
I still have a UK account, so my issue really is, what is a good way to transfer say 100pounds every month to the UK, without getting destroyed by commission?

You can either set up a direct debit on a UK account or make a SWIFT transfer every month from Canada to SLC's account.
Best thing would be to enquire at banks in Canada as to how much they charge for UK transfers. You may find it works out much cheaper to transfer several months money at once into your UK account (if possible) and then pay back by direct debit.0 -
I heard that if you move away your loan repayments are frozen???? Though I have never seen this in any official place...Just started tweeting @trudes20100

You won't have seen this because it's incorrect.0
