I have a boy aged 3.5 and a 20mo girl. One of our most used toys in the last year was a large (A4-ish) magic slate - one of those things where you draw with a magnetic pen. My son has used this loads for drawing and writing and now dd is starting to have a scribble on it too. It's like this except b&w not colour.
I would also recommend Toy Story stuff.0 -
Ask the parents what the kids are into. Then you can't go wrong.0

i would suggest crafty things for both. i have a 3yr ds and 2yr dd and both of them love cutting and sticking. i think because they have there own scissors and pritt stick type glue - they feel grown up.
for the 3yr old i would but a box and fill with paper, scissors, glue, craft packs (with the little shapes/pom poms etc) maybe paints too.
for teh 5yr old my niece loves to make things such as those 'sew your own bag' 'wooden spoon fairies' things like that, shes 6 now and wants bendaroos and bindez for xmas.
have a look on elc for ideas. most of the craft things in there are really good value.Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
I have 5yr old twin daughters and they love anything to do with dressing up - dresses, shoes, fairy wings etc. Also Barbie, Hello Kitty, lego and all the arty things you can buy.
Last year we got our 3 yr old nephew a Thomas the Tank pj set and TTT bath and bubble set. Something that he loved wearing and different as he gets so many toys.
Hope that helps!0
