FML Insurance - Can I trust them

I am thinking of taking out an insurance policy with FML Insurance for my private recording studio. They have given me a price I am happy with and they specialise in musical equipment. I am just wondering if I can trust them not to just disappear in 6 months and leave me uninsured?

FML are just a broker, which Insurer have they quoted you with ?

Have you tried Music Guard who are a broker who specialise in the music industry.

Avoid anyone who quotes you with Entertainment and Leisure aka E & L

They have quoted me with Allianz

They are a reasonable Insurer.

If they have do not asked you to list your equipment and stock with values when you take out the cover, it is well worth you making your own list up and if possible take some photos and take down serial numbers of expensive items. This can really help should you ever need to make a claim and can also help the police should it be stolen.

Make sure you keep the list and photos at a different site than your studio

Musicguard are worth a try as well
