Advice on sliding patio door repair

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to repair/replace the bottom runner on patio doors. Our house has a porch added on, and the open plan living room area is separated from the porch by sliding doors. The track part of the runner has come off the bottom of the frame. Is it feasible/possible to repair this, or can it be replaced? The frame and doors are metal BTW.

if its just come off and not damaged then its simple enough to lift the door/s back onto the track.
a pair of levers/pry bars will help. big screwdrivers?
    Get some gorm.

sorry, I didn't explain myself very well - it's the track which has come off its base plate, not the door off the track...

It doesn't appear to be damaged - it seems to have been fitted into two narrow grooves in the base plate, what was holding it there I don't know. It wasn't a loose fit, something was securing it, but whatever it was has never been visible. I think it came loose after years of family members stomping on it as they came and went - there is nothing to protect it from the pressure of feet. We have another set of patio doors going from the kitchen to the conservatory which have a frame either side of the track to prevent you treading on it, but the one at the front door has never had this :(

  • To slide a new track into the existing grooves the whole frame probably needs removed, not an easy diy job. the alternative is fitting a repair track similar to this i found on ebay
