I am at the stage of having calculated the charges and excess interest (comes to over £2000!) I am going to be sending my first letter off this weekend. Good luck with yours Leon.

Sorry its still early for me.

I should have made it clear. We already have all the statements. We calculated all the charges.

Used the spreadsheet and letter templates and wrote to the bank asking for the money back.

thats what i thought, then you are doing everything right

    good luck

Right I am doing my next spreadsheet - From claim date with statutory interest.

Under the heading claim date do I put the date we originally wrote to them or todays date?

    Thanks

I had a letter today off HSBC.

They said that they won't pay charges. The usual stuff saying that they have to decide whether when someone goes overdrawn, to pay the cheque/DD etc or not.

They even tried justifying that £125 charges were the norm.

    They are having a laugh.

Second letter has already gone out though because they didn't reply within 14 days.

DO I just wait for them to reply to that?
    :p
