leon103 Vs HSBC

Another bank charges thread sorry.

Last week I sent a letter to HSBC on my OH behave, to claim back charges.

Today I received a letter back that was signed by a customer service rep saying that they will look into the case and get back to me.

My question is - What do I do next?
Do I wait now for them to write again? If so how long do I leave it?

Thanks
:p

I will ask over there now. Not so keen on that board for some reason. Nothing against the users just can't get the answers I crave sometimes. It could just be the way I ask.

  • Hi

You need to wait 14 days (not working days) from when they recieved the letter before you send your letter before action (im guessing you have sent the prim letter). After sending the letter before action you need to wait a further 14 days before commencing court action.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks for the reply Emma.

I sent the original letter(first letter) asking for the charges back last Thursday. Today I received a letter saying they would look into it and get back to me.

So basically if they don't write back before Friday I can send them a before action letter and then wait 14 days before taking action.

Not off the top of my head. But my girlfriend asked the bank for all her statements in the last 6 years. Think its around the 1200 mark
    :p
  • oh now i am confused. Do you already have your bank statements for the last 6 years or have you sent the data protection letter requesting them????

Sorry its still early for me.

I should have made it clear. We already have all the statements. We calculated all the charges.

Used the spreadsheet and letter templates and wrote to the bank asking for the money back.
