Dell Laptop Unable to Find Wireless Network

I’ve got a dell laptop and I’m having problems trying to connect it to the wireless network. Its definitely not the wireless system as other computers are connected to it. When i try to find any networks, i get the message of “no wireless networks were found in range” I’ve also tried the repair option and i get a message of “windows could not finish repairing the problems because the following action cannot be completed. Connecting to the wireless networks.”

Anyone got any ideas?

Does the laptop have built in wifi or are you using a dongle.

Either way borrow a dongle and try using that. IF it works then you know what the fault is and how it can be remedied or worked around for under a tenner.

Being dell they have function key to turn off the wireless, try that.

Look in the adapter settings.....if the location is set to us, and your router to uk or something, it won't see it.

i had that with mine never had lappy before somehow accidently knocked it off with that somehow on my inspiron use fn key at bottom and f2 at the same time.

also may i suggest if running win7 hook up with ethernet and run windows update as will look at drivers you are running as well if does not work but i suspect it will magically come back on if try above first.
