Please Help - Feeling let down by eBay/paypal

Hi all,

I purchased an item yesterday morning using BIN and paid immediately via paypal. The item arrived this morning and it is an excellent, working, product. That's what I call service.

Now the question is.... this doesn't seem to be the eBay experience when one reads the majority of the other posts on this forum. What should I do? Do I leave positive feedback? Does anyone have a number for eBay/paypal as I feel that I have not been scammed and didn't receive the correct level of bad treatment. Any ideas????? [/sarcasm]

    Well done Mcwarre...

Likewise I feel awfulyl guilty that my last few positive feedbacks received all state what a wonderful experience it was, and how easily and quickly the purchase went and they received their goods.

I obviously must try harder to upset my buyers a bit as otherwise casual users might think ebay and paypal are OK.

And people sometimes bid more on my items that I think they are worth!!:cry:

Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.

  • I'd also like to add my disappointment that in the 10 days since I started selling full-time for a living, I've taken over £300, sold many items within minutes of listing them and have had absolutely no problems changing back to my maiden name from my married one on PayPal, even without the court-issued documentation they normally require :rotfl:

Not wanting to rain on your parade but, when this happens to me, my first thought is that I've listed it too cheaply.

I do that as well...but then my next thought is 'thank heavens that sold I can buy more now!'.

Trends and sales are very odd on ebay. I listed some things on Thursday as BIN with immediate payment required for 3 days only as I am away this week and wanted everything posted before I leave. Some of those things have been listed several times before and as it was only 10p to list I put them up at high prices, much higher than they previously went unsold for, and sold 11 out of 15 items. One item has previously been listed as a straight auction with a start price of £4.99 and went unsold twice. This time it sold in less than 48 hours for £11, I really can't account for it.

I'm selling for the same prices as the two major sellers in the category - I'd rather have a higher turnover and a lower profit than waste listing fees on potentially getting a bigger margin. Average sale price is around £3.50, so unsold items leave a larger dent in profits than, say, someone selling motorbikes.

Next step is to try and push the ASP upwards by offering multi-packs
