I used to have an oil filled rad in the bedroom before I got CH.
It was on a plug in timer and did me fine for about 7 years.
Just dont forget a 2kW oil filled rad uses the same power as a 2kW convector/halogen and so on, main advantage I reckoned was once the rad had heated up it'd still be giving off heat as the oil cooled.0 -
it will produce no more or less heat and cost no more or less to run than a convector heater of the same kW rating.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

ok ta for the replies just wanted to know if it was going to cost more or less to run.0

Whatever criteria you use to choose what type of heater to buy, the cost to run it does not need to enter into the decision. It is the same for all electric heaters.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
