I saw the Asda price guarangee advert on the TV and decided to try it, it only lets you go back about 4 weeks, but I entered my weekly receipts for the previous three weeks and each week it came up that Adsa were X not the cheapest!
one week was 86p one was 84p and one was £1.23 not a huge sum but anything helps.I was very suprised, it then directs you to a page where you can print out a voucher for the difference between your shop and the Supermarket that beat you, I have used the vouchers in Asda and the tills except them, you have to be carefull when printing them out as they only let you print them once, I made a mistake on one and the second voucher came out without the barcode, so take care, you take it to the Asda till with the matching till receipt for that weeks shop and you get the money off your next shop, I urge you to try it, after all you have nothing to loose! and maybe a voucher to gain! :T

Well, useful if you shop there anyway I suppose, but of course its just a way of trying to get you to go back. I recently tried Asda for the first time for my big online shop, and wasn't impressed. They hadnt come by half an hour past the end of my 2-hour slot and I had to go out so I rang them to cancel and re-arrange. I had to argue with them in order not to pay extra for delivery. Then the re-arranged delivery was also half an hour late - driver told me all their deliveries in our area are currently running about an hour behind, so they do know about it but just assume their customers can stay in and wait. Then there was an item missing although listed on the delivery note so I had to ring again to get that refunded. Oh, and my Quidco for a first order tracked at £0.
So its back to Tesco's for me. (I decided to try Asda because they sell brinjal pickle and Tesco don't. But I'ne got enough for 6 months now...)0 -
Don't forget if you spend £100 in ASDA and the same shop is £102 in Tesco then Tesco is cheaper once the basic clubcard points are taken into account.0

I only shop in Asda because it is the closest shop to where I live, the next closest supermarket, Tesco, is another 12 miles away as is Morrisons, and as for sainsburys............. it is at least 60 miles away!

Hiya,
I know this is a late reply...
Asda delivery have never been good. They're always late, messed up orders, etc. I always shop at tesco.
Another thing I notcied is, you only get real benefits from Asda Price guarantee if you buy named brands.... As Asda's own brands won't be taken into consideration.
So you may end up overspending anyway.)
Happy saving.

Have to diagree with you there, on my last check asda own brand biscuits, sausage rolls and crispy potatoes were all compared.0

yes as KxMx says they do compare own brand. It is always worth doing the price guarantee as if you have done your shopping there anyway, you might as well check to see if they were cheaper.look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves.0

this week i saw the morrisons add for roses/heroes £3.99 buy one get two free and as morrisons it hard for me to get to i thought that i would take advantage of the asda price guarantee for the first time. so as the total shop has to be less i went to the morrisons site and looked at their offers section looking to see what they had on offer that i might want then sticking checking the price at asda.com to make sure morrisons was cheaper. so yesterday I go and buy the stuff at asda £48.20 knowing that it would cost me £34.03 and expecting to get a £14.17 voucher after 9AM today. but today when i entered all my details next to morrisons where i was expecting to see £14.17 i saw N/A* and lower down the page
"* Unfortunately your shopping can’t be compared with Morrisons as the prices that have been collected are now over 7 days old. You can review our Terms & Conditions for more details. Also see our Questions & Answers section."
over 7 days old! but how can this be, as asda's own site says
"2.2 Morrisons prices are collected instore (by an independent agency) twice a week (Monday and Wednesday), and therefore unlike Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, are only updated twice per week."
so i made a call to asda on there help number found in price guarantee Q&A section.
I told them that morrisons was showing as N/A and i was not happy as my shopping would have been more than £14 cheaper at morrisons at which point they asked me for my receipt details which i gave them and they entered on their computer. they said they could see that there was no information for morrisons and surgested that i check again on monday. I asked what i should do if the information was not updated by monday and they responded with it should beupdated by sometime next week. I asked them at what point i should take some action other than checking the website, they responded with i'm not sure what you mean and I told them return everything to asda and take the 28 mile round trip to get the stuff from morrisons asda is only a mile from my home. they just surgested again that i try the website later and i asked them if they could try and find out why the data was more than seven days old pointing out to them that it should be updated twice a week and is there a problem with morrisons data? they told me the data was collected by an independent company and they would not be able to contact them. now that i have posted this my next course of action is to email mysupermarket.co.uk and find out if they have a problem with collecting the morrisons data.
I will let you know how everything turns out.0 -

Matching price is not good enough, even with just basic clubcard points the Asda prices have to come in 2% lower than Tesco just to match them, take the extra deals into account then they need to be 6% lower just to match and that is without allowing for the extra points deals which can be worth 50p or more off on some items.
Even with Sainsburys they need to be a minimum of 1% cheaper to match, can need be more than 4% cheaper just to match and again that does not take into account any extra point offers on products (not as many as Tesco but there are still some and they print out money off coupons at the till).
(and both Tesco and Sainsburys have extra point/money off offers with their mail outs)0 -
Do you know that if you don't like anything that you have bought from ASDA and take it back they give you a full refund + the price of the item again. :jThe solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0
