Can one wiser than me please let me know if I can get numerous insurance quotes(car) without affecting my Rating?

    Yes you can. Insurers only do quotation searches, which is a basic ID and credit rating search. Their search can only be seen by you and the credit reference agency. Has no affect on your rating.

    People often worry about this, but the data released to Insurers is restricted to a very basic check, with no information actually seen by the Insurance staff. It is just checking whether the ID data given matches that shown on the credit record. The credit rating score is also checked and this will affect whether monthly payments are offered, as well as having a slight affect on premium rating.
    The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

    confused.com does credit searches. not just ID searches. However, these type of searches wont impact on your "score".
