Sorry, there's probably a totally obvious answer, but I can't see it and I need this email.

Last night I definitely had an email re a hotel reservation in my Hotmail inbox. I received it a few days ago. I deleted several messages received before and after this message.

Today, the reservation email is not in my inbox. I have checked deleted messages and all those I recently deleted before and after it are there, but not this one. I have checked all my other email folders but it is not there either.

Is there anywhere else I can search to retrieve it ,please?

Thank you

Ok, yes, I see the search box on the right hand side of the page....never noticed that before. Did an advanced search though I'd already searched through my folders anyway. There is no trace of the email. Weird.

I have picked up my reply to them though and that is attached to their original email in my sent box so I've got my booking ref now. But what happened to their original message from my inbox? I don't understand !
  • Probably a stupid question, but do you have 2 hotmail accounts that you use (maybe one yours, one your partners), and the e-mail address the confirmation was sent to was the 2nd one?

Not a stupid question at all in my world ;)

I have just found it :o

I must have accidentally deleted it last night. It wasn't where I checked in my deleted list because I didn't realise deleted messages are listed in the deleted box by date order in which the message was originally sent and not by date the message was deleted. Therefore although deleted last night, it was listed further back on a previous page of deletions.

I don't know why it didn't show on the search??

Oh God, I am mortified by my own ineptitude practically every time I post on this board :o Thank you for your forebearance!
