thanks mad,:( I'll miss him he was in and out most days, doing odd jobs for me, always had a joke to tell, my dogs loved him, he used to "dognap" the puppy and take him home for his wife to have a cuddle,

Sounds like a lovely neighbour to have had - I too am very lucky with mine.

Makes this seem even more meaningful

Having had a couple of bad things happen in our family that saying is so very true.

My attitude now is never say "I'll do that next year" - grab the chance to do or say the things you want, you might not have the chance otherwise.

My condolences Jefery - makes it more poignant when it is so close to Christmas. When we had to have our lovely corgi put down, it was at the same time as a friend's red setter. Used to be really difficult when we met in Sainsburys because we would both burst into tears at the sight of each other - don't know what everyone thought of us.
  • just wanted to add my condolences to jeffery and gill

and thriftysister looks like someone is holding on to make your xmas more special, what do you think a xmas day baby perhaps.

How awful gill, you must feel dreadfully sad at this difficult time.

It seems awful celebrating christmas when a loved one has just died, be it man or dog, but no matter what, life carries on.

I lost both my parents many years ago just a few days after christmas and its always a sad time for me,

Good memories - they'll stay with you.

    Take care
