Had a nightmare shop in T`s yesterday afternoon- dark & very wet for a start, then I had £4 LV`s + £2 Co-op conditional spend. Of course, the cashier disappeared to ask about the LV`s (presumably, I never get the same person twice, as I have them from Pinecone often enough), then when I`d driven home, happened to look at my receipt- £3 of LV`s hadn`t come off the bill, & neither had the £2 Co-op voucher  I then had to spend 12 mins on what is with Virgin, a premium rate number, trying to explain what had happened. Evenually, they went & checked the right till, & some money is being kept for me, though the CS lady wasn`t sure she could give me the Co-op voucher as it`s non scanable- unfair, to my mind, as it wasn`t my fault it wasn`t scaned properly. To make it worse, when I put my trolley back, I discovered that the £1 in there had dropped out...:mad: Because I was with my Mum, & it was hammering down, I didn`t bother to do anything about it. Got to drive back into town, to recover £3, but still another £3 down....v. cross!

Looks like u had one them days where nothing went right, hope u have a good 1 2day....

Write to h/o re: untrained staff at your local, explain what went on. The list of competitors spend coupons is programmed into the tills now, they don't have 2 scan, just hit the relevant button and it prompts the amount.

Had to go to Belfast today. So decided to call at Tesco superstore on way home.

Selected a cashier that looked willing to take a few coupons. (bad selection by me).

Gave her the Finish £5 coupon ( the 1 item i did actually purchase knowing it was a 51p of the rest of my shopping).

But the till girl seen it flag £5 off shopping, so then starts going thru the whole receipt, but couldn't see it all as it was still on the machine roll. Eventually she manages to move roll on a wee bit and then says "I can't take this of as the item was less than £5". I told her it doesn't matter Tesco will get the £5. She then asks the till person beside her, but she didn't have a clew. Then takes the coupon and runs off lookin for a manager or supervisor. She was gone about 5 min, and everyone behind me giving me the evil eyes.
Eventually returns and tells me she cant take the coupon as its worth more than the product. Told her "ok just take the coupon at £4.49 then".
    girl - "Sorry I can't"
Me -" what about these other coupons? oh never worry let me outa here"

In this situation the c/o supposed to put line through the barcode and write the true amount next too; appears u got rite good TROUTING :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: However, the coupon can't be used with any other offer as said b4 (we try too ignore this fact), but if that was the case we would hardly use coupons as there appears always an offer on..

I have walked out and left all my shopping many times in all the supermarkets when had hassle with coupons. It's great fun when you see their face when you say "ok then, if you" won't accept my coupons I don't want my shopping" and walk out or even better, "I just want all the Reduced to 10p stuff, take all the other 50 items off my bill" :D :rotfl::rotfl:

BTW on this thread we don't care about spelling mistakes, we just like to have fun, help each other, pass on deals, winning comps and save each other as much money as possible. We are known as the best and friendliest thread on mse, please all help keep that reputation.;)

    Morning all

I always pay for my shopping then move away from the till and check the receipt before I leave the store. Once I spotted a coupon had not been taken off and went to CS who went back to the till and checked and it was in the till so she gave me my money back.
You can also check for overcharges and have some fun with dtd, which I have done many a time. Recently there was something on offer for 5 for £1 which went through at 85p each, a lovely little dtd for me.

Maybe you should complain and hope to get a moneycard for your trouble.icon7.gif:):):)

Morning All and Happy Birthday Blue :beer:

Postie delivered a paperback book today - "The Recruit". It's for older children but the parcel gives no indication where it has come from! It must be a freebie but I have no recollection of it. Anyone else received one?

I just got the book this morning. It must have been posted on here as I very rarely go on the freebies board anymore. Thanks to whoever posted (gill maybe;))
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

When I 1st read your post - I thought Tesco also accept "Louis Vuitton" coupon (LV)! :D

Just checking the address on first page is customer service is that the same as head office & is that the address to send when conditional spend not accepted remember reading months back on the thread someone discusssing which was best but can't remember which.

My hardcopy letter came from :

    Tesco Store Ltd
    Customer Service Centre
    Baird Avenue, Dundee DD2 3TN

Quote :"I did notice that this isn't the 1st time you've have experienced this problem. I find this disappointing as we have contacted the stores each time to resolve this. I hope that in the future you have no other problems. If you do however, we may request for you to send your receipt and coupon into us for a full investigation" Unquote.

Now if you read their letter to me, they did not mention anything about refunding - only to investigate! I still think it's best you email them and tell them you want a hardcopy reply - don't forget to include your full name & address. And hopefully you will get the same letter as I have with a full list of supermarket conditional spend.
RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)
