My local Sainsburys SS are fine with coupons, but Asda & Tesco SS need authorising - and they check them thoroughly.

Went to Mr T's today and asked at CS if M&S £5 off £25 spend voucher OK - CS checked with Supervisor who said yes if it scans - but it didn't when she tried. CS said check next time in store as it may be put on system then. Does this mean that each store has to put the coupon into their system, as I know some of you have managed to use it OK?
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift - the present. ;)

Evening all, hope you are well!

Another quick question for the MOC experts... how do you find using mocs on a self service till? x

I've only used the individual item coupons on the SS at Tesco and although they accept them, they have had to be authorised. I've never tried the conditional spend on them though.
  • I see!! Thanks all! :T

Does the coupon go in the machine through the cash bit... (im a bit technophobe :p but I do like using self service tills sometimes! )

There is a special slot marked 'coupons' that you just push your coupons through once you have scanned them or had them scanned by the SS OP.

Don't make the mistake I did when I first tried to use coupons on the SS - I didn't scan them and just pushed them through the slot expecting the machine to read them!!
:o I wasn't very popular when they had to get someone to find the key to open the box up and retrieve my coupons (probably why they don't let me put my own coupons in now! :)).

I think you should be able to but they probably don't scan.

Ask your local store to look in their coupon policy info sheet and/or check the tills by pushing the 'competitor spend' button and seeing if M&S comes up as an option. I THINK it's listed as one of the stores where they should accept the voucher. I am a bit rusty as I do not often go to Tesco now!

Do not just take 'no' for an answer. Customer Service desks and till trouts do not know best, the till does and the coupon info sheet from HO does.

Oh, and I have a couple of spares of these M&S vouchers if any regulars need one or two and want to pm their addy. :D

To save people looking, here's CM's post again with the details/instructions for the M&S voucher
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
