    Yea i can understand that.
  • we get mail anytime up to about 4pm which is ok but the one thing that bothers me is our new postman just leaves parcels on the door step and doesn't even knock so I find them sometimes last thing at night when I putting the recycling out.
I think there is a service that means you can pick your mail up for the PO if you need it earlier but I am sure that is at a cost.

I don't think it is anything personal about the time scale you get your delivery probably just a change to the route

My Nan and Grandad live in a small village, a couple of miles from the sorting office. A postman that left was not replaced and as such they get their post at 5pm now.

    you mean delivery office?
    well theres 2 separate things
if you want your mail 'early' then you need to pay for that
if you simply want to collect the mail and not wait for it to be delivered then its free

Also in the town I live in, Mum's Town Centre work always got their post before 9am, then it became 10am, then the service to pay for it early was introduced soon after.
  • Didn't know there was 2 different things, Ta custardy.

I might look into the second option as it might mean I get my parcels in my hand rather then pot luck on the door step

the paid service for early deliveries has been in place for years
however many got their mail early under the old set up without paying for it.
delivery offices have/had 'firms' duties taking out business mail
welcome to the future.sadly most of you are waking up to it too late
  • We never get post before lunch time here. Last week I was out collecting son from school when it turned up.

bear in mind this relies on the mail/packets actually being sorted
ive seen packet mountains laying unsorted
so collecting the mail wont change that

    just look at Dundee
