ebay/paypal buyer protection query

I bought a clothing store £50 gift voucher off ebay expires 31 march 11,when i tried to use it the cashier called manageress who refused to accept it as it was a voucher that was given to staff and requires a staff number,so this voucher is worthless to us,the item description never mentioned this it just said it was a gift voucher,i cant open a dispute as it says its excluded why??as ive reclaimed my money before regarding gift vouchers if anythings gone wrong,so it seems ebay/paypal wont help me,i did pay on credit card for £35,anyone any advice?

Really when did this change take place as i was scammed earlier in month with some high street vouchers and i won and was refunded,if thats the case from now on ill stop buying them,maybe i can do a chargeback on my credit card??

As far as I know it's always been the case.

If your on about a section 75 chargeback that has to be more than £100. Also some CC companies don't allow you to do one as paying through paypal is counted as a thired party.

Have you contacted the seller? You could request their details from ebay and phone them.

Sorry but your link doesn't work but if it is about debit cards can you please explain the relevance to someone who has used paypal?

You need to read it in full but in case anyone is tempted to ignore it thinking it does not apply to PayPal here is a small part to show this is not the case:

Chargeback cover may apply to Paypal transactions
Although payments made through online payment systems such as PayPal are not covered by section 75, they should be covered by the chargeback rules, so it's worth putting in a claim.
