Mastercard AID numbers

Options
Hi I just started to use my mastercard today and saw on my receipt that there is a letter "I" at the end of the M/C number? What does this mean? Also I know for VISA cards there are 2 / 3 different AID numbers which identify whether the merchant needs to seek an online authorisation all of the time etc.

The AID for my Mastercard is 41010. Is this an online or offline?

Thanks

I stands for "Integrated Chip Card".

Mastercard credit cards will be off-line that is they wont require authorisation until a floor limit is reached (same for Visa credit, it is just Visa debit that is on and off-line).

The new debit card I am not sure to be honest as I have not read the manual but as they both work under a code called EMV and the M stands for mastercard I sure the bank can set them either way, but you cant tell from the AID only by reading the embedded code on the chip or magstripe.
