All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

We moved into our new house in march this yr, its a new build and the houses come with these great meters that tell u just how much u r saving/wasting and also carb f/print %. I also have it on my igoogle homepage with 30min updates.

Was a bit of a joke for first 2 months as they estimated the gas but thats sorted now, my payments now r considerably less than a yr ago when i was with npower. Im also using more electric now with garden lights and hot tub on perm.

    Would defo recomend.

    Hi maxgwen,

Congratulations on your lottery win :j.

Can I just probe your post above, please.

I presume your on their standard tariff rather than the online iSave product?

Your payments may be less than a year ago, but by how much on gas and electricity?

Is it a fair comparison in that you have moved home? i.e. are they the same size ,thermal efficiency. etc

If you are using more electricity with some things like a hot tub on permanently how does that square with much lower payments now?

Are you sure about this? We are just entering the winter period, remember. What payment method are you using? Monthly fixed DD or Variable monthly, or on receipt of bill?

Did you apply to use First Utility on moving in and what made you choose them? Did you compare prices then /now?

    Cheers :)
  • First Utility is a new company on the street - they are the cheapest in many areas of the country, but be aware that you pay by Variable Direct Debit.

This means you have a bill every month that will vary from say £250/month in winter to £15/month in summer.

You will lose the advantage of Direct Debit that spreads the cost equally across the year.
