Toshiba Tecra M10 Screen Removal?

Thought I'd ask if anyone has ever removed the 14.1" screen from a Toshiba Tecra M10 laptop?

I was going to remove mine today and thought it would be an easy task but not so. There are what I thought were 6 rubber screw covers on the front bezel but having prised them off there's nothing underneath! They are literally just rubber pads to cushion the lid from the keyboard and touchpad and don't conceal anything. I'm now at a loss as to how to remove the bezel to access the screen.

Incidentally, I don't need to replace the screen but just blast it with an airjet (hopefully). There was a microscopic dustmite crawling around between the backlight and the display and it's only gone and died in there leaving it looking like there's a dead pixel. I've tried tapping the screen gently but it just won't budge and being lit from behind it casts a shadow much bigger than its physical size.

There's nothing like a good Google search...! The first two hits are specifically for the M10, but I suspect most of the others would fit the bill fairly well...

Thanks for the reply John. I spent most of the afternoon googling but all I could come up with were general guides for removing laptop screens and those specific to Toshiba related to different models. That's why I was expecting to find screws behind the rubber 'bungs' on the front bezel and to have the job done in less than an hour but alas no. I can't find a downloadable service manual on the Toshiba site either, just a user manual which I already possess.

Incidentally the first hit does have a simple guide to dismantling the M10 but not the screen assembly, and the second relates to the A10. Most guides from other Toshiba models lead me to expect there to be screws beneath the rubber bungs but there are none on my M10. :(

I'v seen one (HP?) where the bezel had to be carefully prised off with a screw driver, it was held on by little plastic tabs, it simply snapped back on.

I can't find a maintenance manual online, either, which looks like what you would need. I have a Toshiba Tecra M10, but have never needed to take it apart (fortunately!)...

I've tried pulling on the bezel and part of it comes away but the corners appear to be fastened quite securely. Like most it's made from quite thin plastic and so I'm reluctant to apply too much force in case it snaps.

Thanks for the input spud but I may just take it along to PC World or somewhere and ask their techie guys to open it up and clean it. I was trying to avoid the expense but it may be cheaper in the long run.

I've had many laptops previous to this one but this is the first time ever I've noticed a moving black dot behind the front protective layer on the screen. I was praying that whatever it was would keep on walking but alas it died on its journey and left me with this annoying and possibly costly problem. :(

Thanks for taking the time to help.
