Hi, now heres the situation! Myhubby had 2 interviews the job 1 offered £18K A year with bonuses etc, the job 2 £24 grand both doing the same things, job 1 - car allowance, sales included etc permanent. - start end of month.
Job 2 vehicle supplied tomtom, 90% perhaps permanent! - start monday

What do you do? We have 2 kids and obviously need the security but we really need the money!

What would you do??

    No dilemma IMHO.
    The money gets first call!
And if you COULD live on 18k, that means you can save a whole lot of money if he's bringing in 24k!

You haven't mentioned a company pension for either position. That might sway your decision.;)

Thats brilliant congratulations to your husband for getting the offer of 2 jobs.
Wish my DH could get a chance at getting one job for 16k.
The one offering more money would definately be the one that i would want him to go for.
Whichever one he chooses he just has to tell the other that he has been offered a better job .If he chooses the higher paid job then tell them that job pays more money. They might up the wage if they want him badly enough.
Good luck and well done to your hubby.

He also needs to assess the most stable business. How long have they been trading, how many employees do they have, what are promotion prospects.

If the 2nd job is 90% permenant then go for it. If it is actually 50% then go for job 1. Sometimes these fab jobs end up not being as good as you think. Also what are the hours like for both? Way up which would give you and DH an income and a home life. Many years ago my dh went for income, no home life and has always regretted it.

thanks you, thats real kind of you emily,

What about the security? he said it was for 3 months and 90% that he can offer permanent? But did he say this just to cover 3 months of work he has.

Have you compared the working hours and leave as well?

Also, if he is brave enough :-) he could always ring the first guy up and explain what he has been offered. If they really want him, they may match it, or at least up their offer.

    They both are fantastic companies,

he reckons job 2 may pay him really more. His wages before these interviews was £26k so it is a step down for either job with wages, Job 2 seemto have money to throw away and he would work for them first out of both if they were both permanent or not!!
