Anyone know anything about Sat Navs?
My Garmin Nuvi 200w went back for a battery recall a couple of weeks ago and it came back borked. Garmin sent me a replacement which arrived today but the touch screen is way out and I can't put addresses in, it all come out as gobblydegook.
I understand that you can calibrate the screen but none of the recommended ways of doing this seem to work. There's no re-set button so Garmin say to slide the power key and hold it for 8 (or 30) seconds depending on which site you read, but neither works.
Of course, it's Saturday so Garmin are closed. Good really because I'd have filled someone's ear this morning.
Anyone have any ideas?

OK, Google gave me this and it worked. My software version meant my unit emulates a different model, but I managed to calibrate the screen. I'm posting the solution here in case anyone else has a similar problem.
To calibrate the touchscreen on your nuvi 200W follow the steps below:- Have the unit turned OFF and unplugged from power.
- Slide the power switch to the ON position and hold for about 45 seconds.
- A message will display on the screen: Press Dot.
- Once this message displays, release the Power button.
- Press in the center of the Dot.
- Keep pressing in the center of the Dot as it moves around the screen.
- Once this is complete, there will be a message: Calibration Complete.
- Touch Ok and the unit will restart.
*Note if unit is running software version 6.00 or newer you will want to follow steps from below.
To calibrate the touchscreen on your nuvi 205 series follow the steps below:- Have the unit turned OFF and unplugged from power.
- Place your finger in the top left hand corner of the touch screen and apply pressure.
- Slide the power switch to the ON position.
- Hold pressure in left corner until the Press dot message appears.
- Once this message displays, remove your finger from the screen.
- Press in the center of the Dot.
- Keep pressing in the center of the Dot as it moves around the screen.
- Once this is complete, there will be a message: Calibration Complete.
- Touch Ok and the unit will restart.

There's no re-set button
I think you will find that there is, although it is hard to find as it is not a button as such. You simply press the label.
Maybe the discussion on this forum will help you locate it.
