Unpaid item

Hi, this is the first time I have had an unpaid item.
Buyer bought on the 13th Nov, I sent invoice immediately, and then again on the 15th nov, I then sent 2 messages on the 16th and the 18th saying if there was a problem pls contact me, I even asked for buyers details and tried to call them on the registered phone number(it was unobtainable), I have now opened a npb despute. still nothing. The strange thing is that he bought stuff after mine and the feedback says "prompt payment" etc. This is really strange, as the buyer has 100% feedback, and to risk this on one item is very strange.
One other question, should I allow ebay to automatically open non paying bidder disputes (after the 4 days)or just do it manually.

Just keep opening them manually. Occassionally you get a buyer that says things like, 'Is it alright if I pay on whatever day when I get paid', If you are like me you don't mind waiting as long as you know - but if you have an automatic open disputes, it will open disputes on these ones as well.
It's up to you. I'm sure you can change your preferences if the option is not working out.0 -
Since you can only start disputes on the fourth day, if this happens again, I wouldn't send too many messages before then. Just one invoice and then another perhaps on day 3 without any more text, and then start proceedings if they don't pay up. Otherwise if the buyer does pay, they can leave feedback marking down your communications score (at the very least).
Just rein in the excessive comms and then sort it out with disputes. There's no point coming across as nagging, it just makes you IMO look a bit greedy."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I also add them to the blocked bidders list ... not sure if anyone else does this so they cant bid on anymore items.:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad

Also, if they get two strikes from disputes in twelve months, they are prevented from bidding on a lot of people's auctions, so it's worth setting your buyer preferences to include that block too. It helps pre-empt slow/non-payers a certain amount: nothing is ever 100% as there will be some people who genuinely make a mistake and only have the occasional problem, but hardcore non-payers are a different matter."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

It's looking like I've got 3 non-paying bidders this time round, UK, Ireland and Lithuania.0
