Sony BDP-S370 advice

I am looking to buy a cheaper Blu Ray player. Seems the Sony BDP-S370 is pretty much up there with the best.
Researching it, I was concerned at a deluge of posts on Hi Fi sites in the summer complaining about sound issues. Sony promised a software fix, but I have no idea if it was done?
I assume that if the forums have no recent posts then the problem is solved?

You can get the panasonic bd45 for £99. That's a good one, too, or the slightly better bd65 for about £120.0
