Just my little story as i feel like a complete fool

Have been with edf for years was on their online saver 3 tarrif. I did a comparrison and online saver version 4 was the best one saving me a little bit.

Anyway called up and changed to this, easy peasy.

Just got a letter in today to say that im now on thier standard tarrif as the saver 4 was a year type contract. This is news to me cant remember getting told this.

just wanted to let people know that have been on a long term supply that sometimes it can go wrong.

That's standard practice for the expiry of an online tariff. At least they notified you. Just call up and they'll switch you to their latest there and then over the phone.

i understand i can do this, but with the previous one it had always came out cheapest (apart from this year on the comparison sites), never needed to go onto their variable tarrif as this one wasnt just lower for the year(then onto their variable).
Feel like ive been conned a bit . The guy told me online version 4 was a better one, what he forgot to mention was it would only be better for a year then the prices would rocket and i would now need to keep changing every year..

Perhaps the salesman, sorry, customer advisor should have pointed this out, but it will certainly be in the T&C's. I'm in a similar position with Npower, as I was on SOL16 which has no time limit but then switched to SOL19 which is cheaper, but only runs untill September 2011.

This seems to be the way things are going now if you want a cheaper tariff, and I have just accepted I will need to switch every year.
