    i had the same problem when my wife broke down on the M6, they wouldn't change the wheel but they would tow her to a safe place... seems daft to me. she asked for a tow but they couldn't provide one so just changed the wheel..

    the AA wouldnt use the jack inside the car anyway.. they have trolley jacks.. and breaker bars.

    RAC came out to me in 10 minutes and repaired my flat this week (only because the spare in my brand new car, had a bolt stuck in it, god only knows how I was supposed to know that, i coudnt even lift the damn thing out of the car!)
    No problems though what so ever. He was done in 20 mins, even with the extra added problems.
    Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

    i think the OP phoned the AA because her husband checked the boot, not the AA wouldnt help becasue there was no jack
