Contribution based or income based JSA??

I have just applied for JSA and have been notified i have qualified for contributon based JSA because i have always worked.....
I don't really understand the difference tbh:o

Contribution based means you've paid enough National Insurance contributions to be able to claim JSA regardless of your savings/partner's income etc...
If you were not entitled to contribution based then you'd be assessed on your income and savings to see if you were eligible for Income Based.0
