My friend has got a gas bill in from powergen and there is a charge on it for something called IGT and was wondering if anyone knows what that is

    Can't remember what it stands for but basically, as I understand it, another company owns the pipes that connect the the property to the main Transco gas network. The IGT charge is the cost of this service. It's usually charged on new houses.

    All gas companies would have to charge the IGT, although I think some hide it in their consumption costs rather than showing it on the bill seperatly.
