Cost to remove a staircase??

Hi, I previously posted on here saying we are trying to purchase the house adjoining our own to knock through and make it one property. As we have come to make plans and things, we found out you can only have one kitchen which we kind of knew. But now we have found that we may need to take out one of the staircases. Has anyone got any idea of how much it would cost to remove a staircase and obviously make the floor and ceiling correct at the same time. Any advice would be great to give us an idea of costs before we go ahead! Thanks

Why do you need to take out a staircase?

Not sure their are any regs that say you can only have 1 kitchen. Bill Gates has 3 in his house.

    Eh?

You can do what ever you want with the rooms in your house. We've knocked two houses together, kept both staircases and use one kitchen as a utility and cloakroom. One of our main costs was complying with new-build building regs: We had to insulate all external walls, fit fire doors and mains smoke detectors. Felt like a fortune at the time but all so worth it now.
All the best with your endeavour.

Whoever told you that was misinformed.

Myrtle... we're looking at doing a similar job.
Was this a big thing to do? Did you have to link utilities etc?
