Parking signs in general
Reading these threads and posts about parking made me think of a case a couple of years back, yes I know it was a couple of years but the case still applies.
What happened was someone painted all the parking signs in a village not far from where I live so they were unreadable, now if you can't read the sign then you can't be fined.
This was on the news and a spokesman for the council said all the signs have got to be replaced, but then he said, "We have lost a lot of revenue because of this."
So this made me think, they want you to break the law so they can fine you to get the money, if for example you waved a magic wand and everyone parked properly and left as they should in the time limit and paid the the correct ticket price and displayed it etc, what would they do then for the revenue?

Probably up the council tax even further and then still only collect the bins every 2 weeksIf Adam and Eve were created first

If everyone started to obey the law they would soon rectify it so people broke it. Simply by making certain roads not right turn and putting a camera on it, adding in a few more yellow lines and putting small displays with random time limits on it. They would also put more parking meters everywhere.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Oh well seeing only PPCs would start mugging OAP,s the council will have to put the council tax up.:)0

They can affect the supply of parking provision by removing parking bays, extending yellow lines, changing restriction times etc so they will always catch someone out.The man without a signature.0
