Help: connecting TV/Sky/DVD recorder

We have bought a new tv stand and disconnected all our cables and now I cant get the dvd to record anything. I can play back prerecorded programmes but have to change channel, it doesnt do it automatically when I press play.

Could someone please tell me the setup. We have a tv, dvd recorder and Sky all with two scarts. I am not sure whether to plug the aerial into the dvd or Sky and there is also another cable that I have connected between the dvd and Sky which might be wrong.

i have same set up.
i have scart from tv to sky and scart from tv to dvd
aerial to sky and rf out from sky to dvd so that it can get the reception for channels

this will mean on the tv
av1 sky av2 dvd.
