Options
Hi I have bumped someones car on aldi car park today. very little damage to mine but theres prob needs a new door.
I have offered to pay as it was def my fault and my insurance has approx 250 xs and protected no claims. I just reversed into their empty parked car.
Is it knock for knock on a car park?? Can anyone advise.

what was the other car doing? reversing? if so could go 50/50

never admit liability (as you have done by offering to pay) its part of the policy conditions

  • No it was stationary, parked up correctly with no one in it. so could hardley say it was anything to do with the other party

Unless you can afford to pay the cost privately. I fear that a near door skin, fitting and painting will cost a fair whack.

  • i Think it will be close £300+ to get this fixed, Ask if he will get quotes.
I like your honesty as it was empty car though.
  • mickbhall you are about right. but surely that is better than loosing my protected no claims of no accident ever in 22 years of driving.

Its the paint job that is dear. about £240..

excess only comes into it if you claim for damage to your car, as you have protected NCB that will stay the same but you can expect a increase in base premium due to the accident.

if you can get the other person to get quotes you will have the option of paying direct or handing it to your insurance company
