we moved from BT to plus net due to BTs dreadful customer service and their outrages prices
however, have we jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire?
the service is a bit slower but more than that, i find that pages (especially on this site) dont load properly. for instance, this page currently has in the site bar at the top (in blue) elements: 158/161 and it still has an 'x' in the refresh section showing it hasnt finished yet
but it will sit like this for ever, it wont change until i cross the x myself
i always use opera for my browser which can be a bit temperamental
is it because of plus net, the browser or what?

You seem to have migrated from one part of BT to another - Plus Net was bought out by BT in 2007.0
-
yes, we knew that but were happy to make the change
im now in firefox, and the problem doesnt seem to be happening. but will try some other websites to see
i wonder why that is, i much prefer opera tho0 -
which version of opera are you using? latest one is 10.63 might be worth while uninstalling and reinstalling incase its a bad auto update or one of the add ons has updated and got screwyDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I've been with Plusnet for a good few years now. The service and uptime has been excellent, with the exception of technical support who are somewhat tortuous to work with, but the occassions on which I've needed to use them have been few and far between. Overall, I'm happy enough with them. I've never had a problem with pages not loading properly.
Can you try Firefox and see if that works? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Plusnet were amongst the first ISP's to throttle connections, that is why I left them.0

Never been throttled by yPlusnet and their changeover was flawless , but the suggestion for trying Firefox is a good one, and add Noscript too ... yes Noscript is a pain to start with but it does save a lot of grief visiting sites which have links to less than scrupulous content.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . it says 3.2mb??
plus it said the server was in milton keyens, i dont live anywhere near there, we live in east kent0 -
The server can be anywhere, don't worry about it. 3.2Mbps is not rocket powered, but it's good enough-certainly not the cause of your problem. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
