It is probably this one as the answer combinations match, but I would not suggest you search for yourself on google etc as you will increase the popularity of the site and therefore the exposure of your details. (see my post above re site/search engine tracking)

Thanks everyone for trying to get to the bottom of this. The only competition I seem to have entered is the Feathers Ledbury one, so I have sent a "strongly worded!" email to them. Hope this list gets removed asap. I'm not so bothered about my email address being on view but not happy at all with my phone number being there.

Am appalled at what's happened. Just to mention two things:
    1. once removed, portions of the list will still be available - 'cached' by google.
    2. Hope you're all using a false date of birth for all your online entries, just in case similar happens.

Thanks everyone. I did thank that one, so that will no doubt be it.

19000+ names still seems one heck of a lot though. I would have thought that since 346 people on MSE thanked, then there would have been only 1 or 2 thousand entries at most.

I think that worse case scenario is that if I get loads of spam, I set up a new email and get a new PAYG sim card.

    Good point by mjm3346.

Does not appear to be the case at the moment, maybe because the page opened a spreadsheet and was not a web page as such
    false date of birth

DoBs were on not the list and you may run into problems with a false one if you are a winner on something and asked to prove it.

My first thought as well but the daily draw for just 4 AA batts gets over 500 every day and the weekly somethingforthewickend comp for about £50s worth of stuff gets over 2,000 entries every time so I suppose for a prize worth £500 that's less than ten times the entries for 10 times the prize, the comp was also open much longer.

It has come to our attention that the contact details you recently submitted in order to enter a
competition run by The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, have been inadvertently been made available
online. The details consist of a name, email address and a contact telephone number.

Steps have immediately been taken to rectify this; deleting of the website involved and requesting
its immediate removal from any search engines that may have indexed the page.

The situation arose due to a development copy of The Feathers Hotel website using the same
database as the live Feathers Hotel website (on which the competition entries were available only to
the website owner via a secure login).

This error was entirely down to the V8Media, the developers of the website, and was in no way
caused by The Feathers Hotel who were unaware of the action taken by our company. The integrity
of the Feathers Hotel is without question.

We sincerely apologise that this has happened, we take the security of our websites and the data
contained on them extremely seriously. We will be putting steps in place to ensure that we are doing
everything possible to prevent this happening again.
